Every Kerala lottery agent code begins with the letter of the District Lottery Office that issued the agency. Enter a code to see which district it belongs to and where that office is. Use it to confirm that a seller is licensed before you buy, or to work out which office an agent deals with.

What a Kerala lottery agent code is
The Kerala State Lotteries department sells tickets only through licensed agents, about 55,000 of them, plus the retailers who buy from them. When a District Lottery Office grants an agency it assigns a code made of the district's letter and a serial number. The department publishes the letter scheme itself: T for Thiruvananthapuram, Q for Kollam, H for Pathanamthitta, A for Alappuzha, Y for Idukki, K for Kottayam, E for Ernakulam, R for Thrissur, P for Palakkad, M for Malappuram, D for Kozhikode, W for Wayanad, C for Kannur and S for Kasaragod. Agents display the code at their point of sale and quote it when buying tickets from the department, when paying small prizes and when claiming their commission on winning tickets they sold.
The code tells you the issuing district, not the agent's current status. An agency can lapse if it is not renewed, so if you are dealing with a large amount, the District Lottery Office for that letter can confirm whether the code is active. Their phone numbers are on the offices page.
Why check before you buy
- Only tickets sold by licensed agents and their retailers are valid for prize claims. Kerala tickets are never sold online or outside Kerala, and the department warns against apps and messaging groups that claim otherwise.
- A shop that cannot show an agent code, or shows one whose letter does not match its district, is a warning sign.
- Agents also pay prizes up to ₹5,000 and earn 10% commission on larger prizes won on their tickets, so a genuine agent has every reason to display the code openly.
- Verified shops in our directory were registered by their owners with a valid code; agents can add theirs free.
Becoming an agent
Any Kerala resident aged 18 or above can apply at their District Lottery Office with the prescribed form, the fee set by government order, an agreement, photographs and identity documents. Agencies are issued only at district offices, never online. Details are on each district office page.
